About Magenta Xtra

Magenta Xtra is Bert Haagsman. My background is in language and literature and I have a passion for art and design. I worked in publishing as a writer and editor for a number of years before starting my own graphic design studio, Magenta, in 1993, designing books, brochures, websites and more. For several publications I took care of the editorial side, as well as the production, which suited both myself and my clients.

In 2016 I relaunched as Magenta Xtra, providing a ‘one-stop-shop’ for book production, from concept and editing to design, print supervision and distribution. I am also happy to take on just one, or more, of these tasks for any particular publication.

I am accurate, reliable and a perfectionist. I listen closely to what my client wants and remain actively involved in each new assignment. And although it’s always the client who calls the shots, I may suggest a different approach if I think it will produce a better result.
